Coach me and then I can coach You. #healthy is HOT

Becoming a tiger is a big deal.

I have recently posted a couple of things mentioning my new involvement in “BeachBody Coaching”  - this is basically being a Fitness Coach for anyone of any fitness level using home-workouts and other fitness and nutrition programs created and released through BeachBody. I joined the BeachBody Team of Coaches because I have tried out many kinds of fitness, exercise, health programs, and nutrition lines. I like this one the most.

Their Shake (Shakeology - gotta love these names) is filled with superfoods. The farmers all around the world are being fairly treated and cared for by the Shakeology Director, and I like the taste. The work-outs are challenging, but a first grader could do them. My grandma could do them. They are 30 minutes, and I can do a “home work out” streaming it on my phone at the gym. It’s not super cool when my phone pops out of my leggings in the middle of my SUMO SQUAT (engage: BEAST MODE), but nobody’s perfect and I will figure it out. Ultimately, the team wants the American obesity rate to drop. Yeah, that number is 68.8% of american adults. Beach Body programs teach people how to set attainable goals, are flexible with kids, jobs, traveling, spouses and laziness! They don’t leave room for excuses by encouraging a lifestyle that provides solutions to a national problem.  My BeachBody Coach cares about me, and wants to help me reach my goal of completing the Ironman 2016. And it starts with a small, acheivable, trackable GOAL.

Triathlon training is demanding. I wake up stupid early, I say no to a lot of social stuff, my bedtime is stricter than The Oaks, and I spend a lot of time alone. But I want it. I love it. I want to race, be fast, cross the finish line, not die :) Racing brought me so much happiness. Race Day is thrilling, and when I get off my bike and into the run, and I ask myself out-loud why I ever thought this was a good idea. Feels the opposite of thrilling. Because my body hurts, I’m not a Track-thlete, and I want to eat a burger and bathe in ice cream... but instead I have 3 more miles in front of me to complete.

And I do. I complete them. Some of them I walk, jog, crawl, chat with other runners, I yell at all the volunteers to cheer me on because I need it, and in my last race of 2015, I counted to 10 out loud… because if I learned anything from Kimmy Schmidt, you can do anything for 10 seconds.

Yesterday I officially accepted the part-time job at the Kroc Center as a Wellness Coach. Because fitness is my thing now. I love it, I want it, and I use it every day because I use my body every day.

I need to learn how to coach. HELP ME! I am going to coach a PRACTICE (read: PRACTICE) Together Team through facebook and email starting on GALENTINE’S DAY (February 13th for those of you who haven’t enhanced your life by becoming BEST friends with Leslie Knope). You don’t have to commit to anything. Truly. If you can provide feedback, explain what you struggle with, what you hate, what you want (to do, to eat, to be) I am more than happy to practice coach you! Together Teams are 21 days long. I will post videos (critique them!), ask questions, recommend work outs, foods, portions, and address ANY questions you might have about things. We will start Together on Saturday February 13th, and celebrate on March 5th! This is your chance to be the critic that lives deep within. Let it out. Be free. Complain a lot. It’s good for the soul. And let’s do it together! (This is over the internet, so you can be anywhere, any weight, any age, any human :)
